Stainless steel used for fishing hooks, martensitic
share
This is the second installment of the article about the types of stainless steel used for fishing hooks.
The body of our stainless steel fishing hooks is a martensitic material, which I will explain below.
In the case of martensitic systems.
It is less corrosion resistant than other stainless steels.
While austenitic steel contains chromium and nickel, it does not contain nickel.
In exchange for this, it contains carbon, which gives it hardness and toughness through heat treatment.
In order to compensate for this, we apply electrolytic polishing to each and every piece.
However, it is only rust-resistant, so we recommend maintaining it .
Only those who can confirm our purchasing record,
We are currently considering whether to treat the surface again with electrolytic polishing, along with the price.
High hardness = difficult to process
It can't be helped because it contains carbon for the reasons mentioned above.
According to our supplier, it is often used for blades because it is resistant to chipping and rust.
Perhaps it's a little moving to think that our company's technology originated in swordsmithing.
Can be heat treated.
This allows it to have the same hardness and toughness as high carbon steel.
The greatest feature of our fishing hooks is their "flexible strength."
